Alan Hart

Editorial note – Alan is the present church leader having been involved from the earliest days when the church was a house group before moving to the local leisure centre, then finally to our present permanent home in the Beck Centre.

I became a Christian at an early age and belonged to a Christian family heavily involved in Christian work in Bolton, Lancashire.

My family moved to Cumbria about the time I left school (or to be more precise the furness area of Lancashire as it was called in those days) and for a time I worked in Industry before becoming involved in further education.

During all this time including service in the RAF My faith was and still is the most important element in of my life.

I became a local preacher in the Methodist church taking the examinations and being accredited to the Kendal circuit where I stayed, working in two chapels and being involved in childrens work until both myself and my wife June felt the call to start a church where we live, here on Heron Hill.

I presently provide a preaching input to the services as well as leading most services. I really believe that it is vital that the church maintains a Christian witness in this geographic area where no other church provides a witness.
