Don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything, tell God your needs and don’t forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this you will experience Gods peace which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your heart quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4: 6-7
I would like to tell you a little about myself and how I came to know the Lord.
I was born an only child and raised in a small village at the foot of the North Westmoreland Pennines. I attended the local village school until the age of 11, before moving on to Kirkby Stephen grammar which was a distance of 5 miles.
My life in those early days revolved around village events, helping on relatives and friend’s farms with the small animals, hay and harvest time. I also assisted in all manor of village events which I remember as being a happy time. Although it was a small village there was a C of E church (the same church in which I was christened, confirmed and later on married in) as well as Baptist and Methodist chapels, all of which I attended when they had special occasions.
I went to the Sunday school at the church and also when I was older I helped to teach the little ones for a number of years. I also used to love visiting flower festivals and would help with the floral displays at our church. This appreciation of the life and colour of flowers remains with me today and whenever I have a spare moment I enjoy working in the garden. On the subject if things I love doing, home baking, flower arranging and dressmaking are some of the things I also find pleasurable.
During my early teens I was invited by some friends to go with them to a young peoples meeting, which were firstly held at Tebay and later on at Newbiggin on Lune. These meetings were of an evangelical nature and had a big influence on my Christian faith where I accepted Jesus as my Saviour and to know that He will always be with me no matter what situation I find myself in. God will always love me and we can all put our trust in Him for the future.
