Christian community at the heart of the lakes
A warm Welcome
Welcome to Heron Hill Free Church. We are an Evangelical Free Church meeting in the Beck Community Centre, in the town of Kendal, at the heart of the English lake district.
The Church was set up under its current name in 1996 but had its roots as a house church back in the late 1970's. The church was started to provide a Christian witness to the developing Heron Hill housing estate, where no provision for a church had been made.
Since its foundation the church has been greatly blessed with a committed core of members from the local community allowing us to support a number of missionary and local projects.
We believe strongly about being a church in the community and for the community, which is a major factor behind us meeting in the local community centre and not in our own private building.
Our services
People from all different kinds of church background worship with us and feel at home with us. The church meets twice on a Sunday and once in the week to pray, study the Bible and worship together.
Our services are simple and easy to follow, even if you are not accustomed to attending a church. We welcome anyone to join us for worship and to hear the Gospel (the good news) of Salvation through Jesus Christ.
We meet on Sunday mornings at 10:30am and Sunday evening at 6:30pm. In the week we meet on Thursday evenings for a programme of Bible study, discussion, worship and social activities.
